LARGE ROMAN BRONZE BUST OF AN EMPEROR AS HERAKLES WITH CLUB Ca. AD 150 - 220. A bronze bust of an emperor (probably Caracalla or Commodus) depicted as Herakles, with a broad chest and long neck, the head turned slightly to the left. The broad youthful face is cast with wide almond-shaped eyes beneath arched brows, a straight nose, full lips and a prominent chin. Thick spiral curls are arranged in dense tiers across the head.
