RARE ROMAN PAINTED TERRACOTTA TILE WITH EROS RIDING DOLPHINS Ca. AD 50 - 200. A rectangular terracotta tile moulded in relief with Eros seated astride a dolphin, his nude body partly covered by a mantle. A second dolphin swims before him above a band of stylised waves. Size: 170mm x 220mm; Weight: 920g Provenance: From a private London collection; earlier present on the French art market before 2000. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
