RARE ROMAN BRONZE MOON-SHAPED OIL LAMP Ca. AD 1 - 300 . A bronze oil lamp with a crescent-shaped body supported on three short feet. The upper face is modelled as a human mask beneath a circular filling mouth, with a projecting nozzle emerging from the chin. Linked suspension chains are attached to loops beside the filling mouth and nozzle. Size: 95mm x 55mm; Weight: 360g Provenance: Private collection of a Cambridgeshire gentleman; formerly with Allison Barker, 1990sÐ2007. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
