BYZANTINE BRONZE POLYCANDELON WITH ORIGINAL CHAINS Ca. AD 600 - 800.
A bronze polycandelon with a circular openwork frame, scalloped outer edge and broad central opening. The surrounding register is divided into radial compartments with six oval lamp holders alternating with crosses. It is suspended from three original chains joined to a trefoil-shaped upper fitting.
