BYZANTINE MARBLE RELIEF OF AN ANGEL Ca. AD 1200.
A marble relief depicting an angel in profile to the right, with a circular halo behind the head. Rows of tightly curled hair frame the face and descend to the nape. A feathered wing extends behind the shoulder, and the figure wears a tunic with incised folds at the neckline.

Provenance: From a private London collection; earlier present on the French art market before 2000.
