URARTIAN CHARIOT FINIAL WITH BULL AND GOATS Ca. 800 BC. A bronze chariot finial with an openwork vertical stem above a stepped rectangular base. The shaft is arranged in tiers, with a large bull at the top and a pair of goats set to either side of the central stem. Ribbed and ringed mouldings decorate the central stem and base. For similar see: The History Museum of Armenia, Inventory Number: 2007/65. Size: 360mm x 160mm; Weight: 860g Provenance: Private UK collection; previously part of an Oxfordshire ancient art collection; acquired from a Canadian collection formed between the 1970s and 2000. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
