CHINESE TERRACOTTA RABBIT - TL TESTED Han Dynasty, Ca. 202 BC - AD 220. A moulded terracotta figure naturalistically modelled as a recumbent rabbit, resting upon its folded legs with the body rendered in a compact, rounded form. The animal is depicted with an alert expression, characterised by large upright ears, prominent eyes and a softly modelled muzzle. Incised and moulded details articulate the paws and contours of the face. Size: 270mm x 155mm; Weight: 2.92kg Provenance: East Anglian private collection; formerly acquired in the early 1990s in Hong Kong. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
