Description
CHINESE TERRACOTTA DANCING LADY - TL TESTED Han Dynasty, Ca. 202 BC - AD 220.
A moulded terracotta figure depicting a female dancer dressed in a long, flowing robe with exceptionally wide sleeves. One arm is raised towards the shoulder, the voluminous sleeve falling in graceful folds, while the other extends downwards beside the body. The robe flares towards the feet, suggesting movement and lending the figure a lively sense of rhythm. The face is delicately modelled with softly defined features and the hair neatly arranged.
