PAIR OF EGYPTIAN PREDYNASTIC TERRACOTTA JARS WITH RED ENGOBE GEOMETRIC MOTIFS Ca. 4000 - 3000 BC. A pair of terracotta jars, including, from left to right: a jar with an ovoid body tapering to a narrow base, a short neck, and a broad flat rim, with a pair of pierced lug handles at the shoulder, decorated in red engobe with zigzag bands around the body; and a similar jar with an ovoid body tapering to a flat base and a short neck with a low rim, with a pair of pierced lug handles at the shoulder, decorated on the body with spiral motifs in red engobe.
