GRAECO-ETRUSCAN POTTERY FIGURINE OF INFANT HERCULES Ca. 400 - 300 BC. A pottery figurine of the infant Hercules standing with the right leg advanced and both arms bent at the elbows and held forward. The rounded face is framed by rows of thick curls, with a short lock falling over the forehead. A ribbed strap crosses the chest, and a snake coils around the right leg, its head raised against the thigh. For similar see: The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Object Number: 19.192.75. Size: 290mm x 155mm; Weight: 1.6kg Provenance: Private London collection; previously acquired from a New York private collection formed in the 1980s. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
