Description
ETRUSCO-CORINTHIAN ARYBALLOS WITH IBEX Ca. 625 - 575 BC. A terracotta aryballos with a globular body, short neck, broad disc mouth and a short strap handle joining the rim to the shoulder. The body is painted with an ibex in profile, advancing on slender legs, with a long horn curving backwards. A rosette and circular motifs fill the surrounding field. Concentric bands decorate the upper face of the mouth. For similar see: The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Object Number: 41.162.164.
