PAIR OF GREEK BRONZE HANDLES Ca. 500 - 300 BC. A pair of bronze handles, each cast as two confronted dolphins with a beaded ring at the crest. Their arched bodies form the grip and curve down to hooked lower sections. The tails rise at either end and terminate in upright flared finials with rounded tips. For similar see: The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Object Number: 74.51.5455. Size: 235-235mm x 85-90mm; Weight: 895g Provenance: From a private London collection; purchased in Munich, Germany, in the 1990s.
