GREEK TERRACOTTA ASKOS IN THE SHAPE OF A BULL'S HEAD Ca. 400 - 300 BC. A terracotta askos in the shape of a bull's head, with a broad hollow body tapering towards the projecting snout. The head has protruding ears, circular eyes and a pierced muzzle with modelled nostrils. A tall funnel-shaped spout projects from the rear and is joined to the body by a curved strap handle. Size: 200mm x 100mm; Weight: 560g Provenance: From a private London collection; earlier present on the French art market before 2000. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
