Description
COLLECTION OF DAUNIAN KYATHOI AND ASKOS WITH GEOMETRIC DECORATION Ca. 550 - 400 BC.
A collection of three vessels with geometric decoration, including two kyathoi and an askos. The kyathoi each have a shallow rounded bowl, a slightly everted rim, and a high strap handle with a forked zoomorphic terminal. They are decorated with bichrome bands, linear panels, and hatched motifs. The askos has a rounded body, angled spout with a strainer mouth, and applied zoomorphic protomes, with concentric bands, diamond motifs, and dark painted registers across the body.
