MESOPOTAMIAN STONE HEAD OF A WOMAN WEARING A POLOS CROWN Ca. 2200 - 1800 BC. A stone head of a woman with a rounded face, straight nose, and recessed almond-shaped eyes beneath arched brows. The hair is arranged in straight strands framing the forehead and sides of the face. She wears a high polos above a narrow band, with broad lateral elements projecting at the sides of the head. For similar see: The Louvre Museum, Main number: AO 17564. Size: 55mm x 50mm; Weight: 100g Provenance: Private British collection; previously held in the I.H. collection, established in the 1970s. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
