MESOPOTAMIAN LAPIS LAZULI PYXIS WITH ANIMALS AND TREES Ca. 2200 - 1800 BC.
A lapis lazuli pyxis with a cylindrical body, straight walls, and a flat circular base. The exterior is carved in low relief with animals standing among stylised trees, framed by narrow circle-and-dot bands with hatched borders.
