COLLECTION OF CHINESE TERRACOTTA DANCING LADIES Tang Dynasty, Ca. AD 618 - 907 or later. A collection of three moulded terracotta figures depicting female court attendants standing in composed frontal poses. Each is dressed in a long, flowing robe falling to the feet, with the hands held together before the chest in a gesture of respectful attendance. The garments are modelled with overlapping folds and incised details suggesting the layered textiles and sashes characteristic of Tang-period dress. Size: 255-260mm x 65-70mm; Weight: 1.27kg Provenance: East Anglian private collection; formerly acquired in the early 1990s in Hong Kong. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
