PAIR OF CHINESE TERRACOTTA GEESE Han Dynasty, Ca. 202 BC - AD 220. A pair of moulded terracotta figures, each naturalistically modelled as a standing goose with an elongated neck, pointed beak and rounded body supported upon bronze webbed feet. The wings are painted against the sides of the bodies, while the heads and facial features are carefully modelled. Size: 225-240mm x 215-230mm; Weight: 1.98kg Provenance: UK private collection; formerly acquired in the early 1990s in Hong Kong. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
