ROMANO-EGYPTIAN STONE PLAQUE OF BES Ca. 30 BC - AD 200.
A rectangular stone plaque carved with Bes wearing a tall feathered headdress and squatting frontally. The surrounding field is filled with ornamental motifs and enclosed by a twisted border. The plain reverse has a deep circular recess at the centre.

Provenance: Private British collection; formerly in the H.G. collection; ex A. Kotllar, Paris, French market, 1970Ð2006.
