DAUNIAN TERRACOTTA FUNNEL KRATER WITH VEGETAL DECORATION Ca. 550 - 400 BC . A terracotta funnel krater with a rounded body and broad flaring mouth. Two arched handles alternate with two rectangular protomai around the mid-section. A horizontal register with wavy ornament and heart-shaped leaf motifs encircles the shoulder. The central zone is decorated with vegetal tendrils, with dark bands around the rim and lower body. The interior of the mouth is decorated with curved lines forming four pointed fields around the opening. Size: 270mm x 330mm; Weight: 2.3kg Provenance: Private London collection; acquired in France (early 2000s); previously in a Swiss private collection formed during the 1980sÐ1990s.
