Description
APULIAN TERRACOTTA PLATE WITH LADY OF FASHION BY THE M. B. CENTAUR GROUP Ca. 350 BC.
A red-figure terracotta plate with a broad shallow body on a low moulded foot. The interior is decorated with the head of a lady of fashion in profile to the left, wearing an elaborate sakkos, beaded necklace and a drop earring. Concentric bands of waves and elongated white motifs surround the tondo. The rim is encircled by a border of black strokes on a reserved ground. For similar see: A.D. Trendall, A.
