COLLECTION OF VIKING IRON AXE HEADS Ca. AD 700 - 1100. A collection of three iron axe heads, including, from top to bottom: an axe head with a narrow poll, long neck, and broad trapezoidal blade with a slightly flared cutting edge; an axe head with a broad blade engraved with linear ornament including cross-hatched panels and a star motif; and a bearded axe head with a socketed poll and wide crescentic blade.
