COLLECTION OF INDUS VALLEY TERRACOTTA HEADS Ca. 2200 - 1500 BC. A collection of five terracotta heads, including, from left to right: a head with a high coiffure, slit eyes, and projecting nose; a circular mask-like head with large ringed eyes, a pierced mouth, and radiating incised hair; a dark terracotta head mounted on a stand, with a rounded face below a high arched headdress; a female head with an incised headband, coffee bean eyes, and a small pursed mouth; and a female head with a tall coiffure. Size: 35-65mm x 25-40mm; Weight: 130g Provenance: From a London private collection; purchased in Belgium; earlier part of a German collection before 2000.
