BACTRIAN CHLORITE BOWL WITH CANOPY MOTIF Ca. 3000 - 2500 BC. A chlorite bowl with a cylindrical body, thick rim, and deep plain interior. The exterior is carved with a repeating canopy motif, each panel with hanging drapery suspended from vertical supports. Small square motifs fill the fields around the canopies. Narrow incised borders encircle the rim and base. Size: 65mm x 85mm; Weight: 285g Provenance: Private UK collection; formerly part of the H.G. collection; acquired from the French market, A.
