CHINESE TERRACOTTA LADY FIGURE Tang Dynasty, Ca. AD 618 - 907 or later.
A moulded terracotta figure depicting an elegantly attired court lady standing in a graceful frontal pose. She wears a long, flowing robe falling in soft folds towards the feet, with her hands held together before the body and partially concealed within the sleeves. A contrasting outer garment is draped over the shoulders and arms.

Provenance: UK private collection of Asian Art; formerly acquired in the early 1990s in Hong Kong.
