MATCHED PAIR OF HELLENISTIC GOLD EARRINGS WITH GARNETS. Ca. 150 BC. A matched pair of gold earrings, each with a plain hook above a circular medallion framed by braided wire and set at the centre with a garnet. One medallion is decorated with a rosette of 10 petals around the central stone, the other with a ring of 11 applied circles. Below, a suspension loop supports a heart-shaped pendant mount set with a large garnet within a twisted wire frame and bordered by loops.
