BYZANTINE GOLD RING WITH EMERALDS, GARNETS AND PEARLS.

A gold ring with a broad openwork hoop with scrolling vines between pronounced beaded borders and a tall bezel formed of six circular projections set with emeralds, surmounted by a granulated sphere set with garnets and topped by a pearl bead. Size: D:15.49mm / US: 4 3/4 / UK: J; Weight: 8.5g Provenance: Private London collection; previously from a Belgian collection formed during the 1980s–1990s. This item has been checked against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
