ROMAN OR BYZANTINE AGATE CAMEO OF A HAND PINCHING AN EARLOBE AND GREEK INSCRIPTION 'ΜΝΗΜΟΝΕΥΕ ΜΟΥ' I.
Ca. AD 300 - 500.
An oval two-layered agate cameo depicting a right hand pinching the earlobe between thumb and index finger, with the Greek inscription ΜΝΗΜΟΝΕΥΕ ΜΟΥ above ("Remember me"), set in a gold ring with a flat-section hoop broadening to an oval bezel with a raised frame and a lateral flange with scrolls.
