NEOLITHIC GOLD IDOL.
Ca. 4600 - 4200 BC. A gold idol of stylised female form, cut from a thin sheet with a rounded head, projecting pierced ears and shoulders, repousse eyes and breasts, and a tapering lower body with an incised pubic triangle. Size: 51mm x 21mm; Weight: 4.6g Provenance: London private collection; Munich acquisition, 1990s. This item has been checked against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
