EGYPTIAN STEATITE SCARAB WITH HIEROGLYPHS IN GOLD SWIVEL RING. New Kingdom, Ca. 1550 - 1069 BC. A steatite scarab with a semi-circular head, a broad thorax, and divided elytra. The underside is engraved with a sun disc above a falcon and a neb basket below. Set in a possibly later gold swivel ring with a round-section hoop and a transverse pivot secured by capped terminals.
