EGYPTIAN OR PHOENICIAN GOLD PENDANT WITH GREEN STONE SCARAB ENGRAVED WITH A HIEROGLYPHIC INSCRIPTION.
Ca. 600 - 400 BC. A gold pendant with wire-wrapped arms and a suspension loop above a beaded collar, set with a green stone scarab carved with a stylised head and elytra divided by triple lines, the underside engraved with a hieroglyphic inscription. Size: 28mm x 26mm; Weight: 7.6g Provenance: London private collection; Paris acquisition; ex Montpellier private collection, 1970s–1990s. This item has been checked against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
