EGYPTIAN AGATE SCARAB IN GOLD RING. Late to Ptolemaic Period, Ca. 664 - 30 BC. An agate scarab with a semi-circular head, a broad thorax, divided elytra, and a plain underside. Mounted in a gold ring with an oval cell, a round-section shank, and a swivel mechanism with a pivot pin secured by capped terminals. Size: 27mm x 22mm; Weight: 5.3g Provenance: London private collection; Paris acquisition; ex Montpellier private collection, 1970s–1990s. This item has been checked against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
