GRAECO BACTRIAN AGATE BEAD IN GOLD PENDANT.
Ca. 300 - 100 BC.
A banded agate bead of elongated biconical form enclosed in a gold mount formed from a narrow gold strip wrapped around the body and joined at the top beneath a suspension loop.
Size: 55mm x 18mm; Weight: 19g
Provenance: Private London collection; previously part of a distinguished New York private collection, assembled between 1975 and 1995. The collection was authenticated in the early 1990s by Dr. Jack Ogden and Barbara Deppert Lippitz, leading specialists in ancient jewellery. A significant number of objects from this collection were also published in a professional catalogue.
