COLLECTION OF GREEK GOLD EARRINGS, PENDANT AND APPLIQUES.
Ca. 300 - 200 BC.
A collection of 13 gold ornaments, including, from top left: a matched pair of twisted hoop earrings with lion-head terminals; a circular pendant with a central rosette motif; a circular filigree applique; a circular applique with an eight-pointed star; and eight circular appliques, each decorated with an eight-pointed star within a raised border and pierced with two attachment holes.

Size: 10-13mm x 8-8mm; Weight: 4.5g
Provenance: Private London collection; previously part of a distinguished New York private collection, assembled between 1975 and 1995. The collection was authenticated in the early 1990s by Dr. Jack Ogden and Barbara Deppert Lippitz, leading specialists in ancient jewellery. A significant number of objects from this collection were also published in a professional catalogue.
