BEAUTIFUL PAIR OF GREEK GOLD LION-SHAPED APPLIQUES.
Ca. 500 BC. A pair of double-sided gold lion head appliques, each with projecting rounded ears, downcast almond-shaped eyes, a tapering muzzle, and grooves on the forehead, pierced lengthwise with two perforations. Size: 18-18mm x 19-20mm; Weight: 4.2g Provenance: From a private London collection; purchased in Munich, Germany, in the 1990s. This item has been checked against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
