Description
GREEK GOLD LAUREL WREATH.
Ca. 500 - 300 BC. A gold laurel wreath threaded with multiple ribbed leaf-shaped sheet elements, arranged in overlapping sequence. Size: 85mm x 70mm; Weight: 5g Provenance: From a private UK collection; London art market purchase; earlier with the Parthenon Gallery in the 1990s. The XRF analyses performed demonstrate that the compositional profile of the metal is consistent with, and technically compatible with, documented metallic compositions of objects from the attributed historical period, thereby providing substantial material support for the object’s authenticity. This item has been checked against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
