HELLENISTIC MATCHED PAIR OF GOLD EARRINGS WITH AMPHORA-SHAPED PENDANTS.
Ca. 100 BC - AD 100.
A matched pair of gold earrings, each with a slender hoop and a circular plaque with a ropework border framed by applied granules at the perimeter, suspending an amphora-shaped pendant with a rounded upper body, looped handles at the sides, and an irregular pearl drop below.

Provenance: Private London collection; previously part of a distinguished New York private collection, assembled between 1975 and 1995. The collection was authenticated in the early 1990s by Dr. Jack Ogden and Barbara Deppert Lippitz, leading specialists in ancient jewellery. A significant number of objects from this collection were also published in a professional catalogue.
