A garnet intaglio engraved with a janiform gryllos composed of two conjoined faces, a youth looking to the left and a bearded bald Silenus to the right. It is set in the oval bezel of a possibly later gold ring with a rounded hoop and faceted shoulders. Size: D:18.95mm / US: 9 / UK: R 1/2; Weight: 7.2g Provenance: From a private London collection; earlier circulating on the Netherlands art market in the 1980s.
