Description
ROMAN AGATE CAMEO OF MAN IN GOLD PENDANT.
Ca. AD 1 - 300.
An agate cameo carved with a head, turned slightly to the left, with curly hair, a beard, and a prominent nose. The stone is set in a circular gold pendant with a plain collar and a scalloped outer border cut with radiating notches. A ribbed suspension loop rises above, and the reverse is closed with a flat backplate.
