ROMAN CARNELIAN INTAGLIO OF A HAND HOLDING A CORNUCOPIA, EARS OF GRAIN AND A POPPY SEED HEAD IN GOLD. Ca. AD 200 - 400. A carnelian intaglio engraved with a hand holding a cornucopia, two ears of grain and a poppy seed head beside, mounted in a possibly later gold ring with a slender D-section hoop and an oval bezel with a plain collar. Size: D:19.15mm / US: 9 1/4 / UK: S; Weight: 4.3g Provenance: From a London private collection; earlier part of a UK ancient art collection formed in the 1990s.
