ROMANO-EGYPTIAN GOLD RING WITH BRECCIA SCARABOID WITH A SPIDER, GRASSHOPPER, AND WHEAT STALKS. Ca. 30 BC - AD 200. A gold ring with a rounded hoop, the breccia scaraboid bound at either end with coils, its upper face plain and convex, and its flat underside engraved with a spider above, a grasshopper at the centre, and wheat stalks below. Size: D:12mm / US: 44928 / UK: A; Weight: 4.3g Provenance: London private collection; Paris acquisition; ex Montpellier private collection, 1970s–1990s.
