VIKING SILVER PENDANT WITH MASK OF ODIN. Ca. AD 700 - 900. A silver pendant decorated on the obverse with a symmetrical arrangement of scrolls, roundels, and braided wire, centred by a stylised human mask identified as Odin. A domed suspension loop is set at the upper edge. The reverse is plain and concave. Size: 50mm x 28mm; Weight: 8.4g Provenance: Private London collection; formerly in Austrian private collection 1980s-early 1990s The XRF analyses performed demonstrate that the compositional profile of the metal is consistent with, and technically compatible with, documented metallic compositions of objects from the attributed historical period, thereby providing substantial material support for the object’s authenticity.
