VICTORIAN GOLD, ENAMEL AND PEARL MOURNING BROOCH.
Ca. AD 1870.
A gold mourning brooch centred by an oval panel enclosing a lock of hair within a border of seed pearls. The surrounding field is filled with black enamel and enclosed by gold scrolls with rounded terminals. The reverse has a suspension loop and hinged pin.
Size: 50mm x 40mm; Weight: 20g
Provenance: From a private London collection; earlier circulating on the French art market in the 1990s.
