LATE MIDDLE ASSYRIAN OR KASSITE TRANSLUCENT ORANGE STONE CYLINDER SEAL WITH IBEXES AND A TREE.
Ca. 1300 - 1000 BC.
A translucent orange stone cylinder seal, drilled longitudinally and engraved with a tree flanked by ibexes, with a fish and an eight-pointed star in the exergue.
Size: 51mm x 17mm; Weight: 27g
Provenance: Private London collection of an Ancient Art dealer; formerly in a central London family collection, 1990s; reportedly examined by Wilfrid George Lambert in the late 1980s–early 1990s; ex UK art market, 1970s–early 1980s.
