PAIR OF MESOPOTAMIAN EARLY DYNASTIC AND NEO-ASSYRIAN STONE CYLINDER SEALS. Ca. 2800 - 650 BC. A pair of cylinder seals, from left to right: an Early Dynastic Mesopotamian whitish stone seal engraved with a hero fighting lions and other quadrupeds; and a Neo-Assyrian limestone seal with remains of a bronze ring, engraved with two priests flanking a tree. Size: 25-40mm x 14-15mm; Weight: 21g Provenance: Private London collection of an Ancient Art dealer; formerly in a central London family collection, 1990s; reportedly examined by Wilfrid George Lambert in the late 1980s–early 1990s; ex UK art market, 1970s–early 1980s.
