EGYPTIAN GLAZED STEATITE SCARAB IN SILVER SWIVEL RING.
Late Period, Ca. 664 - 332 BC. A pale green glazed steatite scarab with a detailed head, clypeus, and divided wing cases. The flat underside is engraved with a hieroglyphic inscription. Set in a possibly later silver swivel ring with a plain hoop. Size: D:21.79mm / US: 12 1/2 / UK: Z; Weight: 8.6g Provenance: From a private UK collection; London art market acquisition; earlier in an Oxford private collection dating to the 1990s.
