EGYPTIAN GLAZED STEATITE SCARAB WITH INTERWOVEN DESIGN IN SILVER SWIVEL RING.
Second Intermediate Period to New Kingdom, Ca. 1790 - 1069 BC. A turquoise glazed steatite scarab with a carved head, clypeus, plain thorax, and divided wing cases. The flattened underside is engraved with an interwoven design. Set in a possibly later silver swivel ring with a plain hoop. Size: D:21.79mm / US: 12 1/2 / UK: Z; Weight: 14g Provenance: From a private UK collection; London art market acquisition; earlier in an Oxford private collection dating to the 1990s.
