EGYPTIAN GOLD PENDANT OF AMUN. Ptolemaic Period, Ca. 332 - 30 BC. A gold pendant in the form of the bust of Amun, with a rounded face and striated hair, surmounted by a tall crown centred with a sun disc. The chest is adorned with a broad collar. A ribbed suspension loop is folded at the back. Size: 24mm x 12mm; Weight: 1.3g Provenance: Private London collection; previously part of a distinguished New York private collection, assembled between 1975 and 1995. The collection was authenticated in the early 1990s by Dr. Jack Ogden and Barbara Deppert Lippitz, leading specialists in ancient jewellery. A significant number of objects from this collection were also published in a professional catalogue.
