GREEK HIGH KARAT GOLD FLY PENDANT.
Ca. 600 - 400 BC.
A gold fly pendant formed from a thin hammered sheet with repousse modelling of the insect, with a rounded head with pellet eyes, a broad thorax flanked by folded wings, and a tapering abdomen with longitudinal ribs. Small legs project at the sides, and a rolled suspension loop rises above the head. The reverse is plain.

Provenance: Private London collection; acquired in France (early 2000s); previously in a Swiss private collection formed during the 1980s–1990s.
