COLLECTION OF MEDIEVAL BRONZE RINGS WITH HERALDIC SYMBOLS, GEOMETRIC MOTIFS AND GLASS GEMS.
Ca. AD 1000 - 1300.
A collection of ten bronze rings, including, from top left: a ring with a round bezel set with a pale glass inset; a ring with a round bezel engraved with a bird in profile; a ring with an oval bezel set with a pale glass inset; a ring with an octagonal bezel set with a red glass gem engraved with a heraldic motif; a ring with an octagonal bezel engraved with a radiating design; a ring with a large oval bezel engraved with a geometric motif; a ring with a bezel engraved with a flowerhead; a ring with an oval-shaped bezel engraved with a stylised animal; a ring with a raised bezel engraved with linear motifs; and a ring with a polygonal bezel decorated with a dotted cross.
